College of Business Welcomes New Faculty and Staff

The College of Business has several new faculty and staff joining this year. Here are some of the new faculty introducing themselves.

Local realtor Mr. Paul Canfield returns as a part-time lecturer in the management and marketing department.

Paul is a UW-Eau Claire grad, earning both his undergraduate and MBA at the College of Business. A realtor since 1997, Mr. Canfield worked for Kleven Real Estate in Eau Claire.

Currently he is sales manager at Eau Claire Realty. He also serves on the College of Business Marketing Advisory Committee.

Mr. Canfield says he credits his success in his career and in his life to the education and training at UW-Eau Claire. He hopes to share his real-world experience in the classroom to help students.

Mr. Dean Eide joins the management and marketing department as lecturer. He earned his BS degree at UW-La Crosse and his MBA at Cardinal Stritch Universtiy in Milwaukee.

For the past 16 years Mr. Eide has worked at Trempealeau County Health Care Center in Whitehall. The last eight years of his time there he has worked as an administrator to the nursing home, facility for the developmentally disabled, behavioral health clinic and assisted living facilities.

Mr. Jerry Kollross is now an associate lecturer of marketing for the management and marketing department.

Jerry earned his undergraduate degree from UW-La Crosse in marketing. In 1998 he began his own company Top Golf Products L.L.C., which sells golf event promotion products to companies such as Pepsi Cola and Nokia.

He has also brought his experience into the classroom, teaching two classes at UW-Stout in the Golf Enterprise Management program since January 2005.

In December 2006, Mr Kollross earned his MBA at UW-Eau Claire where he was also named most outstanding student in the department.

Communication and Journalism assoicate lecturer Ms. Linda Pophal is now a part-time lecturer in the Management and Marketing department.

A UW-Eau Claire alumna she earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and social work here. She then earned her MA in organizational management from the University of Phoenix.

Currently Ms. Pophal is the director of corporate communication at Luther Midelfort-Mayo Health System. She is the author of the organization's Baldrige application and is a national Baldrige examiner.
