Dr. Jack HoggattDr. Jack Hoggatt

Assistant Dean - Academic Affairs, Department Chair of Business Communication

What I Do
As assistant dean for academic affairs, I work with students to help them meet admission requirements for the College of Business. A lot of paperwork comes across my desk-applications to the College of Business, petitions requesting a substitute of a course or a waiving of a program requirement, and internship applications. I also work with students who are having academic difficulties.

As the Department of Business Communication chair, I work with faculty and staff to ensure that you get the preparation you need to be effective communicators.

What Else I Do
I teach the Business Presentations class and the Advanced Business Communications class.

My Passions
Teaching; writing in the areas of computer applications and keyboarding; coaching children's basketball

My Fondest College Moment
Graduation—knowing that you achieved a goal that had been made in grade school.

Advice to Students
Place the highest priority on getting your education; it is the ticket that will take you where you want to be.
