UW-Eau Claire PSE Chapter Attends National Convention
Five members of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon attended the Pi Sigma Epsilon National Educational Foundation (NEF) National Sales and Marketing Convention in Orlando, Florida, from March 28-April 4, 2011. Over 500 students from colleges and universities across the United States attended the conference.

College of Business Students and Faculty Presented Research at 19th Annual Student Research Day, May 2-4, 2011
Seventeen College of Business students and eight business faculty members presented their findings at the 19th Annual UW-Eau Claire Student Research Day, May 2-4, 2011. Student Research Day posters were on display in the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Zorn Arena May 2, from 12 noon to 6:00 pm; May 3, from 8:00 am to 6 pm; and May 4, from 8 am to 12 noon.

When making ethical decisions relating to information systems issues, Australian business and IS university students tend to think more than American students about how their decisions will affect society and the environment, a University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire research team believes.

UW-Eau Claire to Offer Winter Study-Abroad Experience in India
A new study abroad program to India will be offered to University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students during Winterim, 2012.
Students will travel to Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) in New Delhi, Jan. 2-17. Professors from SRCC and Delhi University will lecture on topics related to business, economy, politics, society and the culture of India. Students will also tour cultural and historic sites in New Delhi and the neighboring cities of Agra, site of the Taj Mahal, and Jaipur, known for its palace, stone observatory, forts and monuments.

UW-Eau Claire Finance Student to Spend Summer at Sea
Jade Schantzen, a junior business student from Lake Elmo, MN, is one of two University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students participating in the Summer 2011 Semester at Sea voyage sponsored by the University of Virginia.
Schantzen will travel to Europe and North Africa during a 66-day journey to eight countries. She will travel from the Bahamas to Spain, Italy, Croatia, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey and Morocco, and end in Boston, MA.

Miller receives Selin Outstanding Teaching Award
Dr. Bill Miller, assistant accounting professor, was the recipient of the 2011 Roger Selin Outstanding Teaching Award. The award, which is sponsored by Wipfli, recognizes a UW-Eau Claire accounting or finance faculty member for his/her dedication to teaching, leading to exceptional student engagement and learning.
Students in Management 449 classes tested their knowledge of business at the Spring 2011 Sim Super Bowl, a three-hour competition where student teams applied what they have learned during their capstone Strategic Management course. The event was held Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 5:30-8:30 pm in Schneider 100.
Vorhees Named COB Emerging Leader
Matthew Vorhees, an accounting major and information systems minor from Madison, Wis., has been selected by the College of Business faculty and staff as the 2011 COB Emerging Leader.

Dr. Jean A. Pratt, associate professor in the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Department of Information Systems, was one of the faculty members selected to receive the 2011 UW-Eau Claire Excellence in Service Learning as a Faculty/Academic Staff Member award.
