Attention COB majors and International Business minors
As you plan your summer and fall schedules, please note that the course MGMT 345 will NOT be taught during the Fall 2011 semester. The course will be available online over the summer, and will be delivered during the Spring 2012 semester. The course will be back on the normal fall/summer schedule during the 2012-2013 academic year.
Laptop Support
Upper-level IS students are offering tech support in the Schneider Hall Lobby to make sure your laptop meets College of Business laptop requirements. Their spring 2011 schedule is as follows:
• Mondays: 12:30-2:30 pm
• Tuesdays: 2-4 pm
• Wednesdays: 9-11 am; 2-4 pm
• Thursdays: 9:30-11:30 am

Health Care Administration Program Accepting Applications for Spring 2011

Majors and Student Services Fair to be held March 4
The Admissions and Student Services Majors Fair and College Preview Day will be held Friday, March 4 from 11:30 am-1:30 pm in the Davies Center Council Fire Room. This is an excellent opportunity for prospective students to meet with faculty from each department and program in the College of Business.

Vorhees Named COB Emerging Leader
Matthew Vorhees, an accounting major and information systems minor from Madison, Wis., has been selected by the College of Business faculty and staff as the 2011 COB Emerging Leader.
An outstanding student, Matthew is a member of six honorary societies: Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, Omicron Delta Kappa, Golden Key, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Phi Eta Sigma. He has also served as treasurer and president of the Honors Program Organization.
Matthew is involved in many organizations and activities, and has served as a campus ambassador, a Phase II mentor for incoming freshmen, tutored in the Academic Skills Center, and is a Big Brother in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
Currently, Matthew is completing a two year-long accounting internship in the Finance Department at Leinenkugel's, and will be participating in the summer internship program at Deloitte. Matthew plans to attain an accounting position within a public or private firm, while studying for the CPA exam and completing his MBA.
UW-Eau Claire HCAD senior Johnathan Kearns Receives WIAC Student-Athlete Award
Johnathan Kearns, a senior UW-Eau Claire health care administration major and business finance minor, is co-recipient of the 2011 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Max Sparger Men's Ice Hockey Scholar-Athlete Award.
A senior from Park Ridge, Il, Kearns carries a 3.48 grade point average. He is a three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and was named to the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) All-Academic Team following the 2009-10 season. Kearns also has been recognized on UW-Eau Claire's Dean's List.

American Marketing Association Gets Involved with Special Olympics
The American Marketing Association (AMA) participated in the twelfth annual Eau Claire Polar Plunge last Sunday afternoon along with other UW Eau-Claire students and community members.
Eau Claire's Polar Plunge was held from 12-3 p.m. at Half Moon Beach in Carson Park. The Polar Plunge is the largest fundraising event for Special Olympics. Community members, organizations, businesses and students collect pledges of at least $75 each and then participate in the event by plunging into the wintry water.
