APICS Students Participate in Case Competition

Six members of the UWEC student chapter of APICS: The Association for Operations Management participated in an annual Case Competition February 15-16, 2008. The competition was held at the Double Tree Hotel, Oak Brook Illinois. Over twenty teams from universities in the Great Lakes District competed.

This year's case problem focused on a distribution center that had excess inventory, inefficient processes, and high employee turnover. The UW-Eau Claire team succeeded in developing an innovative inventory storage and picking system that was practical and cost effective.
