College of Business Welcomes New Faculty and Staff
Jana Schilmoeller, M.A.
College of Business Career and Employment Manager
Jana Schilmoeller is the new Career Services liaison to the College of Business. She replaces Jessica Gardner who took a teaching position at UW-Stout.
Schilmoeller was born and raised in Rochester, MN where she graduated from Mayo High School. She graduated from UW-Eau Claire with a BS in biology and continued her education at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN where she earned a M.A. in Secondary Teaching.
Schilmoeller first job was as a biology teacher at her former high school, which she admits felt a little weird at first because she was working side-by-side with her former teachers. But she found that she really enjoyed working with students. Evenutally, Schilmoeller moved back to Wisconsin and into several different positions at UW-Stevens Point (Upward Bound advisor and a career counselor) and Globe University (Service learning instructor). She returned to UW-Eau Claire this past fall where she holds a split position in Academic Advising and Career Services.
Schilmoeller enjoys outdoors activities such as camping, hiking, skiing, running and anything else that gets her into nature. She likes to cook and experiment with new and exciting recipes—especially vegetarian ones. Schilmoeller developed a love for traveling when she studied abroad in Scotland as a student at UW-Eau Claire. Since then she has traveled to Western Europe, Alaska, Belize, and a variety of places around the U.S.
Schilmoeller looks forward to meeting COB students and helping them reach their academic and career goals.
