Internship Mania: THE Event of Spring
DATE: Wednesday, February 9, 2011
TIME: 10:00 am-3:00 pm
LOCATION: UW-Eau Claire Davies Center
Internship Mania is a great place for freshmen and sophomore business students to practice networking skills, learn about career options, and discover which companies recruit on campus. Junior and senior students can use the fair to make preliminary contacts with employers for internships or permanent employment after graduation.
“Internship Mania gives students the chance to have direct contact with many small and large companies that are looking for eager interns, and full-time employees”, said Jessica Gardner, Career and Employment Manager for UW-Eau Claire’s Career Services. “This is a great way for students to start or continue building a network of professionals”.
Jessica recommends students prepare in advance for the event by researching companies, so they have a confident approach and proper questions to ask recruiters. Make the most of it and plan ahead. Know which booths you “don’t want to miss”, have polished resumes with you, and dress for success. “My biggest tip to students is to go,” said Jessica. “You don’t want to miss what could be a great opportunity waiting for you, and smile!”
