APICS Receives Management Award for Third Time
The UW-Eau Claire chapter of The Association for Operations Management (APICS), received a Platinum Award for 2007-2008 in the APICS Student Chapter Management program. The award recognizes student chapters for their achievements in the areas of administration, education, membership and public relations. This is the third time the chapter has won this award.

Marketing Students Connect With International Faculty
Students in Dr. Rama Yelkur's international marketing classes will have opportunities this semester to hear, see, and interact with faculty from UW-Eau Claire's partner schools in the United Kingdom using Skype, a video conferencing software that allows users to make telephone calls over the Internet. All presentations are at 8:00 and 9:30 am.

Internship Positions Available in Eau Claire
UW-Eau Claire Admissions has four paid internships available for summer and fall 2009, and the 2009-2010 academic year. Interns will be involved in student recruitment and public relations activities for the university.

Luther Midelfort - Mayo Health System is accepting applications for a business development intern starting this March. The position is open to business and communication majors. Strong communication skills are required. Hours are approximately 20-30 per week Monday through Friday with occasional early morning and evening hours.

Erffmeyer Publishes Professional Sales Textbook
Nearly two years ago, UW-Eau Claire marketing professor Dr. Bob Erffmeyer received a phone call from an acquisition editor at Prentice Hall asking him if he was interested in co-authoring a sales management textbook. Erffmeyer said yes, and now for the first time this spring, students in his sales management classes will use, Sales Management – Shaping Future Leaders, a new book he co-authored with Jeff Tanner (Baylor University, Texas) and Earl Honeycutt (Elon University, North Carolina).

Two COB faculty members received doctorate degrees over winter break. Please join us in recognizing their accomplishments.
Dr. Bill Miller graduated from the University of St. Thomas on Dec. 19, 2008 with a Doctorate of Education in Leadership. Dr. Miller teaches in the accounting and finance department.
Dr. Julie Pennington received her PhD from the University of Nebraska Lincoln last month. Dr. Pennington teaches in the management and marketing department.
