Career Services and Alumni Office team up to create “Blugold Career Success Network”
By Ian-Sean Caven, Jenny Christenson, Blake Hemminger, and Jenna Schulz
This past November, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Career Services and Alumni Offices launched the Blugold Career Success Network, which allows students to reach out to alumni and professionals in the workforce.
Users may access the Blugold Career Success Network to:
- Find career paths and majors
- Research specific companies/industries
- Locate speakers for student organizations
- Set up informational interviews or job shadows with employers
Jessica Gardner, career and employment manager of Career Services, stated that the service currently has 130 active members. She hopes that it will expand quickly and be successful for both students and alumni. Gardner confirmed that this program replaced the former Career Services program “Ask an Alum.” This service is now improved because of an upgraded database system that allows for updated profiles and quicker response time.
Why You Should Join:
It’s FREE! When you register you are able to use the search fields to research professionals, and you can contact up to ten alumni per month with an anonymous e-mail sent to professionals in the field. This is a great networking opportunity and would be of great benefit to all.
How to Join:
For more information about the Blugold Career Success Network, contact Jessica Gardner or visit www.uwec.edu/career/BCSN.
