Congratulations to the COB outstanding students
The UW-Eau Claire College of Business is pleased to announce the recipients of the college’s annual outstanding undergraduate student awards:
• Katelyn Goettl, a second year accounting and finance double major from North Mankato, MN, is the 2012 COB Emerging Leader.
• Cara Shimon, a December 2011 graduate who majored in operations management, is the 2011-12 COB Outstanding Senior. Shimon is a supply chain analyst for 3M.
In-depth articles about Goettl and Shimon will appear in the May BizWire.
The Emerging Leader award is presented to a current business student who is not graduating in 2012 and who has shown early leadership and potential for success. Students were nominated for this award by College of Business faculty and staff.
Nominees for the Outstanding Senior award were selected from a pool that included August 2011 and December 2011 graduates, and May 2012 candidates for graduation. All individuals have earned a GPA of 3.2 or higher. The recipient of the award demonstrates great promise and outstanding achievement in their chosen fields. Personality and involvement in university activities are also important attributes.
The recipient for both awards was selected through a college-wide voting procedure.
Goettl and Shimon will be recognized by the UW-Eau Claire Alumni Association, Foundation and the University Center’s Office of Activities, Involvement and Leadership at the 2012 University Student Excellence Awards reception on Wednesday, May 2.
