Four projects submitted by University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire College of Business students have been selected for inclusion in the university's first Provost's Honors Symposium for Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity. The event, sponsored by the University Honors Program and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, will be held Friday, May 6, 2011 from 1-5:30 pm in Schneider Hall.

CHAASE Presents Scholarships, Distinguished Service Awards at Annual Meeting
 The Health Care Administration program and the Center for Health Administration and Aging Services Excellence (CHAASE) announced 2011 scholarship and distinguished service award recipients at the annual spring banquet held March 31, 2011 at the Plaza Hotel in Eau Claire, Wis. Nearly 340 participants attended the annual event.

UW-Eau Claire Finance Team Finishes Third at Regional Global Investment Research Challenge
The UW-Eau Claire investment research team placed third at the 2011 Chartered Financial Analysis (CFA) Institute Global Investment Research Challenge (IRC), which was held February 24, 2011 at the Milwaukee Athletic Club in Milwaukee, WI. The annual competition was hosted by the CFA Societies of Madison and of Milwaukee.

UW-Eau Claire IS Student to Present at National Undergraduate Research Conference
James A. Kasson, a senior University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire information systems major from Waupaca, WI, will present his collaborative research project, Analysis of the Online Behavior of Global Internet Audiences, at a poster session during the National Conference on Undergraduate Research. The conference will be held March 31-April 2 at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY.

Six UW-Eau Claire business students have been named to the 2011 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association All-Academic Team.
Winning the award for the second time in their careers were John Kearns and Tim Possehl.

Amici Places 7th in NCAA Division III Championship Pentathlon
UW-Eau Claire management major Liz Amici competed in the pentathlon at the 2011 NCAA Division III Championships, March 11-12 at Capital University in Bexley, Ohio. Amici, a senior from Whitewater, WI, placed 7th in the event. She was one of nine UW-Eau Claire women's indoor track and field members who qualified to compete at nationals.

AMA to host 29th Annual Fun Run to Benefit Special Olympics
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire student chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) will sponsor the 29th Annual Fun Run event, Saturday, April 30, 2011. The annual 5K race and other activities will be held in the Carson Park Oak Pavilion in Eau Claire, WI. Students, faculty and staff and community members are invited to run, walk, or rollerblade the course. The event will also feature competitions and door prizes, and music by country band Big Back Yard. Food, beverages, and fun will be served throughout the day.

American Marketing Association Takes on Nationals
Over spring break this year the UW-Eau Claire American Marketing Association (AMA) chapter traveled to New Orleans from March 24-27 to attend the 33rd Annual International Collegiate Conference. Last year the recently established chapter received 7th place as a Distinguished Chapter and is looking to take a better place this year.

UW-Eau Claire PSE Chapter Attends National Convention
Five members of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon attended the Pi Sigma Epsilon National Educational Foundation (NEF) National Sales and Marketing Convention in Orlando, Florida, from March 28-April 4, 2011. Over 500 students from colleges and universities across the United States attended the conference.
