Take your leadership experience to the next level!

Join us for the optional Adventure Trips Program where you'll strengthen the bond with your Freshman Connection group in a way only an outdoor trip can deliver. You have the option to register for either a canoe trip on the Lower Chippewa River or a rock climbing trip at Devil's Lake State Park in Baraboo, Wisconsin, depending on which Leadership Institute session you enrolled in.

Rock Climbing Trip

(Maximum 9 participants per trip)

If you enroll in a session with the rock climbing trip option your group will spend 3 days climbing and camping at Devil's Lake State Park, located in Baraboo WI. The evenings will be spent sitting around the campfire where our facilitators will help answer any questions you may have about your upcoming college experience.

DAY 1: The experience begins on the UW–Eau Claire campus where you will meet your trip guides, re-pack your gear for the trip and depart for Devil's Lake State Park. That evening will be spent learning how to tie knots, learning basic belay skills, eating dinner, and enjoying a campfire.

DAY 2: Start the day with a hearty breakfast and head out for an all-day climbing adventure. That evening will be spent relaxing around the campfire and sharing stories.

DAY 3: Start the day with a hearty breakfast and head out for our last day of climbing. We will then return to the campground around 3:00 p.m. to break camp and return back to UW-Eau Claire around 6:00 p.m.
