Ann Rupnow, 2009 Outstanding UW-Eau Claire MBA Graduate, will be recognized at the UW-Eau Claire Alumni Associationís Outstanding Student Luncheon on May 6, 2009. She will receive her MBA degree during the May 16 spring commencement ceremony.
Rupnow was selected for this award by the graduate faculty because she showed leadership in the classroom, according to Dr. Robert Erffmeyer, UW-Eau Claire MBA director. "Ann is always professional and has exceptional interpersonal communication skills," said Erffmeyer.
For an applied field project Rupnow developed an introduction to lean system concepts, which she presented to 45 staff members. She then lead a cross-functional team through process mapping and redesign of the universityís student timesheet process, facilitating development of new processes that will be implemented in the coming year.
"Ann's efforts have spurred interest in lean system design across campus", said Dr. Timothy Vaughan, chair of the Department of Managment and Marketing.
Mary Jane Brukardt, special assistant to the chancellor for strategic planning, agreed.
"Ann helped us begin to build a good foundation in process redesign at UW-Eau Claire," she said.
Rupnow is the organizational development and training manager for Community Health Partnership, a position she has held since February 2009. Prior to this, she was the business program manager for UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education for nearly five years, and the training manager for Celestica Corporation for 12 years.
