Human Resources Curriculum Meets Professional Organization's Guidelines

The human resource management emphasis within the management major at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Department of Management and Marketing has been recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) for achieving its curriculum standards. Currently, only 53 programs at 48 educational institutions across the world meet the organization’s educational standards as outlined in its HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates.

The HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates define the minimum HR content areas that should be studied by HR students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. They are part of SHRM’s Academic Initiative, created in 2006 to help the organization define HR education standards taught in university business schools across the nation and to help universities develop degree programs that follow these standards.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. Representing more than 225,000 members in over 130 countries, the society serves the needs of HR professionals and advances the interests of the HR profession.
