The following departments and programs are accepting scholarship applications for Fall 2009 and Spring 2010:

Why some scholarships aren’t offered this year

Some of the scholarships listed on the COB website at www.uwec.edu/COB/undergraduate/honors/scholarship_applications.htm are not available this year as the funds that support these scholarships are “underwater” (the market value of the endowed fund is lower than the value of the original gift). Endowed funds are governed by certain prudent investment standards that prevent any spending where investment losses bring the fund to its historic gift value. In some cases, donors to these funds are providing additional gifts to support the scholarship awards for 2009-2010. In some cases, this is not possible.

You should also be aware that there may be discrepancies in the dollar amounts for scholarships listed on the Financial Aid website as the Financial Aid Office and the UW-Eau Claire Foundation are still updating fund information.
