Students in Rama Yelkur's international marketing classes will have opportunities this semester to hear, see, and interact with faculty from UW-Eau Claire's partner schools in the United Kingdom, using Skype, a video conferencing software that allows users to make telephone calls over the Internet. Russell Williams, director of the Graduate Business School at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, is an experienced educator, trainer and mentor. Prior to joining the University of Aberdeen, Williams held lecturing posts at De Montfort University, Sunderland University, the University of Abertay Dundee and the University of Hull. He has also held visiting lectureships at St. Andrews University in Scotland and Lahti University of Applied Science in Finland.
While he has taught a number of subjects within business, Williams current teaching interests include marketing and e-business. In addition to his teaching, he has published widely with articles appearing in the journals: Management Decision; Managerial Auditing Journal; Organization Development Journal; Marketing Intelligence and Planning; European Business Review; Journal of Electronic Commerce Research; and the International Journal of Tourism Research.
Drawing on his marketing knowledge and his past experience of setting up an internet retail business, Russell has also worked as mentor on government supported small business (entrepreneur) accelerator growth programmes. Beyond academe and working life, Russell is the coach of a youth football team. He also enjoys history and hill-walking.
