Dan Platta, a senior accounting, business economics, and finance major from Wausau, WI, is the 2008 COB Outstanding Senior. A member of the university's Honors Program, Platta will graduate May 2008. He will be recognized at the UW-Eau Claire Alumni Associationís Outstanding Student Luncheon, May, 9, 2008.
While at UW-Eau Claire, Platta conducted research for the Chippewa Valley Center for Economic Research and Development, completed two accounting internships, studied at the University of Winchester, and held various leadership positions in the UW-Eau Claire Rod and Gun Club, where he coordinated campus and community wide hunting/fishing tournaments. Upon graduation, Platta will begin work at Cargill as an accountant in the companyís emerging biofuels business. Eventually, he plans to pursue a graduate degree with a specific focus on biofuels.
