Four University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire marketing students – Heather Maul, Lomira, WI; Garrett Ullom, Roberts, WI; Jenna Weber, Bryant, WI; and Sarah Wienke, Amery, WI - represented UW-Eau Claire at the National Collegiate Sales Competition, held March 13-15 at Kennesaw State University near Atlanta, Georgia. LaNette Flunker, senior lecturer in management and marketing, served as the faculty coach for the UW-Eau Claire team, which was comprised of finalists from the 2007 UW-Eau Claire Great Northwoods Sales Warm-Up.
Maul and Ullom competed while Weber and Wienke served as student coaches. Ullom made it into the semi-final round and Maul made it to the quarter-finals.
The UW-Eau Claire team placed ninth nationally, beating teams from such schools as Babson College, Ball State University, Clemson, Northern Illinois, and Purdue. For the fifth year in a row, the UW-Eau Claire team placed in the Top 10. Only five other schools have accomplished this, according to Flunker
