Charles Farrell, Director of UW-Eau Claire University Centers, has selected the University Centers Marketing Team for the 2007-08 academic year. Student members include:
· Alexandra Hollman, an IS and marketing major from Weston, WI
· Jenifer Lanzel, a mass communications major and marketing minor from Holmen, WI
· Jeremiah Radel, a marketing-professional sales major from Spring Green, WI
Farrell is excited about the new team and expects to have another good year. Last year's team worked various projects such as promotions with the university book store during its Champion sweatshirt sale last November. According to Farrell, the team created ads for VolumeOne and a Youtube video which helped increase sales over 120% from 2005 to 2006. Other projects included marketing the new Dulany Inn to increase student patronage, writing a 90 page report on improvements to the Hilltop Center, creating a PowerPoint presentation about meal plans to present to parents at freshmen orientation and working with the Davies Center exploratory committee.
The new team will be researching the feasibility of the Davies Center Corner Store becoming an organic store selling local produce. They will also be test marketing DVD rental vending machines for students, working with US Bank to promote the new Blugold/debit card, and developing an ad campaign for the Davies Center and Hilltop sub shops.
Farrell would like to thank the outgoing 2006-07 team members: Lindsay Hartkopf, a business administration major from Eden Prairie, MN; Elizabeth Nelson, a marketing major from Ashland, WI; Scott Herber, a business administration major from De Pere, WI; and Leah Weiland, a marketing major from Appleton, WI.
Twenty one candidates applied for the three current spots, and nine were interviewed. Once selected, members become paid employees of the University Centers.
