Bob Erffmeyer was named the 2006 Marketing Management Association Fellow at the spring Marketing Management Association (MMA) meeting in Chicago. MMA bestows this recognition on a member who has shown exemplary service and scholarly contributions to the marketing discipline. Erffmeyer is the 19th person to receive this recognition in the organization's 40-year history. He is the first UW-Eau Claire faculty member to receive the recognition.
Erffmeyer has served on the MMA Board of Director's for three 3-year terms and also on the Publications Council. He was elected as treasurer, secretary, vice-president of membership, president-elect/program chair, and president. While an officer of the organization, Erffmeyer was instrumental in repositioning the organization, developing a new logo for the group, securing corporate sponsorships and funding, and reorganizing the conference program to include more practitioner participation. He also helped produced the Journal of Advancement of Marketing Education, one of the first online marketing journals.
The Management Association provides a supportive and stimulating environment that enhances scholarship, teaching and the practice of marketing. Its 350 members come from colleges and universities across the United States and several foreign countries.
