J. Roger Selin, Accounting and Finance , and Jay Holmen, Accounting and Finance were named 3M Professor of Accounting at the Student Accounting Society Corporate and Governmental Accounting Night Dinner held April 6, 2006. Both Selin and Holmen received a $1,000 stipend. The 3M professorships are funded by an endowment established by 3M, St. Paul, MN.
Susan Haugen, Accounting and Finance, was named the KPMG Professor of Accounting at the Beta Alpha Psi Honor Society Initiation, December 2005. Haugen received a $1,000 stipend. The professorship is funded by an endowment established by KPMG, an international public accounting firm. To be considered for either the 3M Professorship or the KPMG Professorship, an accounting faculty member must meet the same five criteria. The individual must 1) contribute to the profession through teaching, research and/or service, 2) have good rapport with students, 3) have an interest in professional activities, 4) be terminally qualified and professionally certified, and 5) be tenured or a tenure track.
