After much discussion, Interim Provost Steve Tallant, Vice Chancellor Andrew Soll and Interim Associate Vice Chancellor Andrew Phillips have approved the following policy to allow the maximum possible access for students to Schneider Hall.
Schneider Hall will be open (unlocked) the following hours:
The university will install a new Blugold Card swipe system to be operated on an exterior building door, similar to the one in Phillips Science Hall. That system will be operational sometime before next fall semester begins, and Schneider Hall department chairs will maintain the electronic database allowing individual student access.
Until the card swipe system is installed, College of Business department chairs will work with faculty and staff to provide a building pass to students needing after-hours access. Faculty members wishing their students to have after-hours access to Schneider should request the appropriate number of individually named passes for their students from their chair. The passes are primarily intended for those students who have unique computer needs that are not met by the software that is available in the 24/7 lab (OL 1108).
Business students in the building after hours will need to produce that building pass along with their student ID card when asked by a custodian or the campus police.
