Davies Center Council Fire Room
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's seventh annual university-wide Majors Fair is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, in the Council Fire Room of Davies Center.
The goal of the fair is to provide information on all of UW-Eau Claire's majors, minors and pre-professional programs, said Rebecca Matter, academic advisor in the Advising and New Student Initiatives Office.
"Faculty, staff, and students associated with the various programs will be on hand at the Majors Fair to talk with interested students," Matter said.
All students are invited to the fair. However, prospective students, those who have not yet declared a major and those contemplating a change in major or the addition of a minor or other emphasis to their current major are particularly encouraged to attend.
The fair will include high school juniors and seniors participating in campus visits, as well as students who are interested in transferring to UW-Eau Claire from two-year UW campuses and technical colleges in western Wisconsin, Matter said.
The fair, sponsored by UW-Eau Claire's Advising and New Student Initiatives Office, will provide a relaxed atmosphere where students can talk with faculty, department chairs, academic staff and upper-class students in a variety of disciplines. Representatives from Academic Advising, Career Services, the Center for International Education and the National Student Exchange Program also will be on hand to provide information and answer students' questions.
