Student Marketing Association to Hold 5K Fun Run April 24

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s American Marketing Association will hold its 22nd annual Fun Run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at Carson Park.

The Fun Run is an amateur 5k run/walk and non-competitive rollerblade race. The event is open to all ages and the public.

Money received from entry fees and festivities will be used to improve the AMA chapter and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Indianhead Special Olympics.

A post race celebration will take place at the Oak Pavilion in Carson Park. There will be live bands, games and food for sale at the post party. Door prizes will also be awarded throughout the afternoon.

AMA will award trophies to the top male and female finishers. The top three male and female finishers in each age category will be presented with medallions.

Entry fees for the race are $12 from March 1 to April 23 and $15 on April 24, the day of the race. There will be a $5 cover charge for non-race participants to get into the post race celebration party.

Donations and gifts to help sponsor the event are appreciated and may be sent to American Marketing Association, Davies Center 132, UW-Eau Claire, Eau Claire, WI 54702. For more information on the AMA Fun Run, contact Meghan Gillis, gillisme@uwec.edu or Xue Yang, yangxue@uwec.edu.
