To Our Graduates:
It’s been exciting to get to know you—in the virtual world! As the program coordinator, I spend a lot of time with your statistics—names, addresses, workplaces, classes chosen, GPAs—and build my own images of you. It’s like reading a novel instead of watching a movie. In my virtual world, you are all intelligent, good-looking, successful and happy, by the way. I wish you that same profile in the real world as well. Congratulations on your great accomplishment in achieving your MBA.

An April 21, 2009 article in the Wall Street Journal cites a Graduate Management Admissions Council (MGAT) survey finding that a traditional post-M.B.A. position increases a degree holder’s salary by 74%. Unfortunately, with the bankruptcies of many firms including Lehman Brothers and Bear Sterns (who would hire 800 M.B.A.s combined), these are not ordinary times. The article goes on to state that work experience is playing a big role in weeding out applicants. Hence, the online nature of your MBA degree is even more valuable, since it has allowed you to retain your professional position and advance while going to school. The combination of your work experience and MBA degree will serve you well.
I wish you success as you leave our program. If you ever would like to discuss financial aspects of your future professional decisions, please feel free to contact me.

Most have completed their degree while trying to balance the demands of work, study and personal life.
