the Essentials Program

The Essentials series of courses are designed to give you a broad overview of marketing, management, accounting, finance, and information systems. Most courses are seven weeks long and are offered online through Desire2Learn, a user-focused, web-based “classroom.” Classes start at the beginning of the semester and again in the middle of the semester.

You can take courses for credit as a UW-Eau Claire special student OR you can take courses for non-credit through UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education.

Courses have no prerequisites and can be taken in any sequence. You can take just one course. Or, you can complete the entire Essentials of Business Administration certificate.

To earn the certificate, you must complete two required courses: Introduction to the World of Business and Essentials of Accounting, plus five electives from the Essentials course series. Taking one class at a time, you can complete the certificate in only three semesters.
