The IS department offers a 24-credit Information Systems minor with which you can gain technological skills and knowledge to complement your major. You need not be admitted to the College of Business to earn an IS minor. As an IS minor, you will be introduced to systems analysis, software development, database management, and computer networks in a context that enables you to apply what you learn to your major.
The Information Systems Audit and Control minor is a 24-credit interdisciplinary minor that combines knowledge of accounting and auditing with an in-depth understanding of information systems applications, networks, database designs, and security. Professionals working in the field of audit and control must be able to dissect, monitor, and correct information systems to ensure that electronic accounting systems are free of security breaches and errors. This minor complies with the requirements set by ISACA, a leading academic society that advocates for educational programs in this area. Students must be admitted to the College of Business and complete the Business Core to complete this minor. Students must earn a minimum of 12 credits unique to this minor.
