The Student Investment Management Program and the Department of Accounting and Finance gives UW-Eau Claire students hands-on experience in portfolio management. Students actively manage the Clearwater Fund, a portfolio of equities and fixed income securities. The fund was established by the UW-Eau Claire Foundation in 2002 with a grant of $200,000 to the Department of Accounting and Finance.
Students in the program apply and expand their knowledge of financial markets, asset allocation theory, and portfolio construction and management, use technology to conduct primary research for investment analysis, develop essential decision-making skills and network with financial professionals across the country.
The Student Investment Management Program is open to junior and senior business students. The program requires a two year commitment. Up to ten new students are accepted each year.
