I decided to come to UW-Eau Claire after touring the campus. I fell in love with the beautiful campus and the small, interactive class sizes. In addition, all of the faculty and support staff I met were very nice and helpful. I knew I would fit in well here. Lastly, I thought the size of the college was perfect. I wanted to go to college somewhere that was big enough that I didn't know everyone and yet small enough that I felt comfortable and welcome. I wanted to go somewhere where I knew I could get help from my professors if I needed it. I also wanted smaller classes as I feel they are more engaging and educational. Overall, everything I wanted a college I found at UW-Eau Claire. It was perfect.
I have always been interested in the business world and felt accounting was a major that I could do a great deal with. I thought the major would open up a wide variety of opportunities and career paths for me. While I feel public accounting is right for me at the moment, it is comforting to know I have many other careers I can do with accounting if it turns out to be a wrong fit.
To me, success involves setting goals for yourself and accomplishing them. It involves doing something you love and doing it well. The College of Business has prepared me for success by continually challenging me to do my best and equipping me with a solid base of knowledge and skills in a variety of areas.
