UW-Eau Claire is located near many thriving business districts—both the Chippewa Valley and Minneapolis/St. Paul. Location coupled with a well-known business program was attractive because I wanted to attend a school that would provide plenty of real-world business opportunities to participate in throughout college.
The faculty in the accounting department is extremely patient in helping students learn, and their compassion to students is genuine. The professors I have had class with are willing to help you through a difficult concept until you fully comprehend it. I have been most impressed by how the business faculty enjoys conversing with students during office hours to get to know the student. This adds a personal touch to the academic assistance that is provided throughout the semester.
The business communication courses have allowed me to engage in challenging projects that simulate real-world business activities. Working towards my business communication certificate has given me an edge in internship interviews because employers are looking for new hires who can effectively communicate. Most importantly, the skills I have learned through taking these courses have built my self-confidence.
