Special Scholarships and Awards are Available to Business and HCAD Students

Scholarships are available through the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Foundation and from other private sources. Eligibility requirements and award amounts for these scholarships are determined in accordance with the individual scholarship criteria.

*Why some scholarships aren’t offered 2009-2010

Some of the scholarships listed on this website are not available for the 2009-10 year as the funds that support these scholarships are “underwater” (the market value of the endowed fund is lower than the value of the original gift). Endowed funds are governed by certain prudent investment standards that prevent any spending where investment losses bring the fund to its historic gift value. In some cases, donors to these funds are providing additional gifts to support the scholarship awards for 2009-2010. In some cases, this is not possible.

You should also be aware that there may be discrepancies in the dollar amounts for scholarships listed on the Financial Aid website as the Financial Aid Office and the UW-Eau Claire Foundation are still updating fund information. For the correct dollar amount, go to the March 2009 BizWire or contact the appropriate department chair.

All students who receive business scholarships are honored at a college-wide scholarship luncheon held during the Fall Semester.
