The demand for leaders is stronger than ever as businesses get leaner and expect employers to assume leadership roles at all levels of the organization. Students who develop their leadership skills and learn how to effectively apply these skills in a variety of settings will have a competitive advantage in the job market.
The Center for Leadership offers a leadership certificate to students who meet GPA requirements, compete additional courses in leadership studies, and put knowledge into action by leading campus or community organizations. Leadership studies course cover topics such as community leadership, gender and leadership, ethics and social responsibility, and leadership in non-profit organizations.
Starting Fall 2009, we will also offer military science leadership courses through Army ROTC, one of the best leadership and team-building programs in the country. 100- and 200-level ROTC courses are available to any UW–Eau Claire student regardless of major and can be taken without enrolling as a cadet. Students must fulfill prerequisites prior to enrolling in 300- and 400-level MSL courses.
