About Us

Our Mission Statement:

"Vision is a publication that celebrates the rich history of the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire women’s studies program and all who have fought for the equality and the empowerment of women. Through an open mind and cultural introspection, Vision promises to provide a glimpse at the world through the eyes of today’s woman."

This magazine is a product of CJ 370 at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. The project was facilitated by Ellen Mahaffy and Katherine Rhoades. The communication and journalism class worked in collaboration with the women's studies students to produce a magazine that equips the reader with information pertaining to women's studies at UW-Eau Claire and the women's movement in general.

The idea was sparked by the 25th anniversary celebration of the women's studies program at the university. The profiles and digital stories were provided by the women's studies students, several photographs were taken from the UW-Eau Claire Special Collections or shot by student photographers, and the articles were written by CJ students.
