Long-time WEAU-TV news director and CJ supporter John Hoffland passed away on July 4 in Eau Claire. Over the years that John worked at WEAU, he mentored hundreds of UW-Eau Cclaire broadcast journalism majors as interns and new employees. He was also a frequent guest speaker in classes. Mr. Hoffland is survived by his wife Penny and son Lukas Anthony. Additional information on Mr. Hoffland’s legacy to broadcast journalism can be found on WEAU.com.

A generous donor has established the John T. Hoffland Memorial Scholarship to honor John’s memory and provide assistance to UW-Eau Claire student studying broadcast journalism.
