Daryl Youngstrum is a 62 year old who is volunteering as a mentor at Eau Claire camp for Journalism and beyond. Daryl was born and raised in Racine, WI. At the age of eight he then moved to Littleton, Colorado with his older brother David who is a current resident in Dallas, TX and with his Parents.

“After I graduated from high school I then served in the military as an Air Force officer for 21 years after I retired from military I became a student at Colorado State University and majored in Technical Journalism.”

“I chose to go to Colorado State University because it was close to home and I first became interested in Journalism from a couple of writing instructor who thought I had a talent in writing and they encouraged me to write.”

“My favorite thing about being a Journalist is being a part of the news or anything in particular that you are writing about and creating stuff for people to read or listen what you’re talking about.”
