To apply, you must be a currently enrolled, degree-seeking, undergraduate UW-Eau Claire student. You need to be in good academic standing and have a cumulative resident GPA of 2.75. You may apply as a freshman but must have at least sophomore standing by the time the voyage departs.
As a student studying onboard with Semester at Sea, you may select from a broad range of courses in the areas of business, education, humanities, and the sciences to name a few. All students are required to enroll in one section of Global Studies during the Voyage. Classes are held while onboard the ship. Once at port, depending on the courses you have selected, you will participate in Faculty Directed Practica, studying in country.

Students who participate in the Summer Voyage will earn 9 credits and for the Fall and Spring Voyages, 12-15 credits.

Many courses you can take at Semester at Sea have already been evaluated for UW-Eau Claire credit. Please keep in mind that this is a historical record of past course equivalencies. There is no guarantee that the same courses will be offered in the future, or that they will be offered during the term in which you are abroad.

Click "Search" again. All SAS courses that have been evaluated for UWEC credit will appear in alphabetical order by the SAS "School Subject."
If the SAS course does not appear on the list, it has not yet been evaluated for UWEC credit.
You may study with Semester at Sea for either the summer or a full semester. The Spring 2014 Voyage departs January 14, 2014 and returns April 30, 2014. The Summer 2014 Voyage departs June 16, 2014 and returns August 21, 2014. Students should plan to arrive in the city of departure the day before the ship is scheduled to depart. You are expected to stay overnight in the departure city the night prior to departure. Most Voyages DO NOT depart or return in the United States.
