To apply, you must be a currently enrolled, degree-seeking, undergraduate UW-Eau Claire student. You need to be in good academic standing and have a cumulative GPA of 2.3. You must have completed Spanish 202 prior to participation in this program. You may apply as freshman but must have at least sophomore standing by the time the program begins.
COURSES/ COURSE EQUIVALENCIES
During this eight-week program you will take two three-credit Spanish language or Culture courses for a total of six credits. The following courses will be tentatively offered during summer 2015:
Spanish Language Courses:
Span 301: Advanced Composition (3 credits)
Span 302: Advanced Conversation & Composition (3 credits)
Span 354: Latin American Civilization: Regional Focus (3 credits, fulfills same requirement as Span 352).
Span 405: Advanced Conversation (3 credits)
Culture Course (taught in Spanish)
Culture of Costa Rica (3 credits of Span 930U, Spanish upper division elective)
Six credits of Foreign Culture requirement can be waived upon successful program completion. Please email Degree Review at firstname.lastname@example.org after completion of the program to update your degree audit. (Students earning a B.A., B.F.A. or B.M degree in the College of Arts & Sciences cannot use study abroad to fulfill their foreign language/foreign culture requirement. Tentative dates for 2015 are May 22 to July 16. Exact program dates are available the semester prior to departure.
