To apply, you must be a currently enrolled, degree-seeking, undergraduate UW-Eau Claire student. You need to be in good academic standing and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75. You must maintain enrollment and continue to meet the academic standing and GPA requirements the semester prior to departure. You may apply as a freshman but must have at least sophomore standing by the time the program begins.  Students with no previous formal study of Spanish are welcome to apply; however, applicants should have at least a basic knowledge of Spanish (from high school or other experiences) in order to function in the host environment.

Students will take two PUCV courses during the six week program, which will generally transfer back to UW-Eau Claire as two 3-credit courses.  The following Spanish courses are generally offered to students during the summer session:

Six credits of Foreign Culture requirement can be waived upon successful program completion. Please email Degree Review at after completion of the program to update your degree audit. (Students earning a B.A., B.F.A. or B.M degree in the College of Arts & Sciences cannot use study abroad to fulfill their foreign language/foreign culture requirement. All Spanish and Latin American Studies majors and minors in any of the emphases offered must complete an appropriate period of language immersion in residence in a country where the language is spoken.  This program meets the language immersion requirement.

This 6-week summer program begins in mid June and ends in late July.
