The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is excited for this new opportunity for Chemistry and/or Material Science students to study abroad at City University of Hong Kong. This program is only open to students majoring in Chemistry and/or Material Sciences.
As a UW-Eau Claire student at CUHK, you will be immersed in the life of a Hong Kong student. You can choose from chemistry and/or material science courses offered on campus that semester, along with one or two other courses from different departments.
CUHK is located in right in the heart of Hong Kong with easy access to key districts and major attractions. It is the gateway to the Chinese mainland. Hong Kong is known for being a place where the East meets the West, where western life styles mix with ancient Chinese culture.
Hong Kong is situated on the south-eastern coast of China and is more than 1,100 square kilometers. Hong Kong is a fast paced, cosmopolitan environment with over 7 million people. It is a compact location and it is very easy to get around with its well developed public transportation and bilingual signage (Chinese and English).
HOUSING & MEALS
On campus housing is dormitory style and is arranged through the Student Residence Office (SRO) at CUHK. All rooms come with a single bed (bring own bedding or rent from SRO) and other furniture (desk, wardrobe, etc.) and will have a shared shower and toilet. On campus housing is not guaranteed, but SRO will provide information on how to find off campus housing.
There are no meal plans on campus and each meal is purchased separately. There is a variety of dining choices both on campus and off campus. CUHK is located in the city center so there is always access to a variety of restaurants or cafes. The accommodations do have a common area that holds basic pantry facilities and a microwave and refrigerator.
