THE PROGRAM
Beijing Normal University evolved from the College of Education of the Metropolitan University, founded in 1902. In 1923, it was named Beijing Normal University and was established as a teacher training institution. With over 16,000 students enrolled including 2,000 international students, it's one of China's top comprehensive research-oriented universities. At present, BNU has 22 schools, 6 departments, 14 research institutes and a number of research centers.
This program focuses on Chinese language, culture, education, economic development, and international business. No previous Chinese language study required.
THE LOCATION
You will be studying in the capitol city of China, Beijing. This is one of the most populous cities in China, and in the world. Beijing is renowned for its palaces, temples, and huge stone walls and gates. Home to many universities and art treasures, this city is a center of culture and art.

HOUSING & MEALS
Students are housed in double-occupancy dormitories and student apartments. Each building has kitchens for students to access. There are many canteens, restaurants and take-out windows on and around campus which offers students a large variety.
EXCURSIONS and ACTIVITIES
The International Office at BNU coordinates various excursions throughout the semester for international students. Past excursions and activities have been to the Great Wall of China and enjoying Chinese Kongfu.
