THE PROGRAM
STUDY IN ISTANBUL!
This program gives you the opportunity to see Istanbul through the eyes of its residents, not just as tourists. You will travel throughout the city and to various points in the country to understand the impacts of migration and the mobility of people and goods between Istanbul and the Anatolian hinterland. You will meet Istanbul residents, job-shadow trades people, learn methods and apply them in field research, and have the opportunity to do this through service learning.  The faculty leaders are Dr. Paul Kaldjian (Geography), and Dr. Doug Faulkner (Geography) .

THE LOCATION
While on this adventure, students will travel to Northern Greece, Eregli on the Black Sea and throughout Istanbul, being immersed in the culture and every day life.

STUDENT EXPERIENCE
"Going to Turkey was a life changing event. Through this trip I have made friends that I will try to keep for life, made connections with people outside of my own culture, and learned a ton about myself. I think every student should go abroad, even if it is only for a month. It will change your life in so many ways."   -Katherine 2012
