Join us for a two-week introduction to the business culture of China at Jinan University, Zhuhai campus. The Summer 2015 program will be led by UWEC Professor Thomas Sulzer in Information Systems. You will experience the language, culture, food, and business etiquette while in Guangzhou and Hong Kong. A combination of pre-departure lessons, on-site lectures, and tours of important business and cultural sites will give participants an overview of China today.
The main part of the program will be hosted by Jinan University-Zhuhai campus, located on the southern coast of China on the Pearl River Delta. The location of Zhuhai along with the deep water port makes it a major attraction for foreign capital. Zhuhai's surrounding environment has made it the garden city of China. Ten days in Zhuhai will be followed by a three-day guided visit to businesses and historical sites in Hong Kong. There will also be business and cultural visits in Zhuhai and the surrounding area.
HOUSING & MEALS
In Hong Kong, you will be staying in the Panorama Hotel. In Zhuhai, you will be staying at the Junlin Hotel near campus. At both hotels, you will reside in double rooms, and breakfast is included in the program fee. Some additional group meals will be provided in both locations. In Zhuhai, most of your meals can be purchased at the cafeteria at a reasonable price or in the surrounding area at local restaurants.
You will be paired with a Chinese "buddy" who will help you navigate Chinese culture outside of the formal framework of the program. Past students rated spending time with their buddies as one of the highlights of the experience.
