THE PROGRAM
Roughly 150 US students from the University of Evansville (UE) and other colleges study at Harlaxton College, the British campus of UE. In most semesters, a UW-Eau Claire faculty member will also be teaching at Harlaxton. You will take a 6-credit British Studies class from British professors, as well as other courses from the U.S. faculty from participating universities. UW-Eau Claire has been sending students to Harlaxton for more than 20 years!

THE LOCATION
Harlaxton is a 100-room Victorian manor house in the English midlands. Located on the edge of Harlaxton village, two miles outside of Grantham, the Manor is set amidst the green pastures and rolling hills typical of the English countryside. Nottingham, the nearest city, is about 20 miles away. A convenient rail network provides easy access to other parts of Great Britain, making trips all over the country possible. HOUSING & MEALS
You will share double or triple rooms in Harlaxton Manor and the adjoining Carriage House. Meals are served cafeteria-style in the Dining Hall. There are also laundry facilities, "telly" lounge with VCR/DVD, a general store in the Manor, and campus-wide wireless access.

STUDENT LIFE 
Getting involved in and around Harlaxton Manor is easy. Join a residence life or student government committee, or help create the yearbook for your group. You can also get involved in intramural sports (volleyball, basketball, soccer). Harlaxton students often play against students from the British high schools and universities in the area, as well as the Harlaxton staff.

STUDENT EXPERIENCE
Going to school at Harlaxton College was amazing! It's an experience I will never forget. Living in a castle for four months, learning British History (which was brought to life in my traveling) and experiencing British life (through the Meet A Family Program) all enriched my college years to a memory I will never forget. -Katie

EXPLORE ENGLAND!
Part of Harlaxton's unique academic strength is seeing firsthand the places you are studying. Two to three local field trips are included in the required British Studies course. Harlaxton organizes weekend and vacation travel that you can access for an additional cost. Typical destinations include London, Bath, Paris, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Ireland, and Italy. Past travel itineraries and travel prices are available on the Harlaxton Web site. Please note that all the travel prices are listed in British pounds. The Student Affairs Office also presents an Independent Travel Seminar at the beginning of each semester to provide students with the skills to plan their own travel.
