Central European Travel Seminar Academics

The program is open to all academically eligible undergraduate UW-Eau Claire students. You must be in good academic standing and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3. You may apply as a freshman but must have at least sophomore standing by the time the program begins.

During Spring 2017, you must take a mandatory three-credit preparatory course, Art History 350: Art Field Study Programs, which fulfills GE-IVA and Foreign Culture. The class is held on Tuesday and Thursdays from 4:00-5:15pm.

While on the seminar, you will take a three-credit interdisciplinary course (IDIS 340/540, GE-V) on the art history, geography, and music of Central Europe. The course fulfills three credits of the Foreign Culture requirement. (Note that students pursuing a B.A., B.F.A., or B.M. degree in the College of Arts & Sciences MUST take the equivalent of two semesters of a foreign language to fulfill the FL/FC requirement. See the university catalogue for details.)

The 2017 program dates are for four weeks from late May to late June 2017. You will arrive into Berlin, Germany and depart out of Krakow, Poland.
