To apply, you must be a currently enrolled, degree-seeking undergraduate UW-Eau Claire student, in good academic standing, and have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. You must maintain full-time enrollment and continue to meet the academic standing and GPA requirements the semester prior to departure. Although you may apply as a freshman, you must have sophomore standing before the program begins. No prior German language study is required.  Please note that you must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this program.

Whether you like museums, the outdoors, or Grimm's fairy tales, Kassel has a lot to offer. Kassel's ISU focus is on German studies, political science, and inter-cultural communication. One extra-curricular workshop is also included in your program fee.

Effective summer 2015, three credits of Foreign Culture requirement can be waived upon successful program completion. Please email Degree Review at after completion of the program to update your degree audit. (Students earning a B.A., B.F.A. or B.M degree in the College of Arts & Sciences cannot use study abroad to fulfill their foreign language/foreign culture requirement.
