To apply, you must be a currently-enrolled, degree-seeking undergraduate UW-Eau Claire student .You need to be in good standing (academic, financial and conduct) and have a cumulative GPA of 2.3. You must maintain enrollment and continue to meet the academic standing and GPA requirements the semester prior to departure. You may apply as a freshman but must have at least sophomore by the time the program begins.
Nursing students applying to complete their first semester senior year during fall semester at Harlaxton must have a 2.5 GPA and be in the first semester of their junior year at the time of application.
COURSES Harlaxton and UWEC faculty. Harlaxton College courses are taught by a combination of British faculty and visiting U.S. faculty.
Harlaxton Courses and Credits. You will enroll in three to four courses for a total of 12 to 15 credits at Harlaxton College. You are required to enroll in the six-credit British Studies course, which comes back to UW-Eau Claire as 2 three-credit courses. Three different versions of the British Studies course are available.
Honors options: ID H382H British Studies Honors Upper Division: A petition must be filled to count the courses towards the UW-Eau Claire honors requirement. Please discuss a petition with UW-Eau Claire Honors Program. In addition to the British Studies Honors sections, students can turn any Harlaxton course into an honors courses by contracting with the professor to complete additional work. Nursing option:Harlaxton offers a nursing option in the fall semester. If you are a UWEC nursing major in the first-semester of your junior year, you can apply to spend the first-semester of your senior year at Harlaxton. There are limited spaces available (typically between 2 and 8), and the courses offered at Harlaxton do not contain content in acute pediatrics. Please read the course substitution plan for the nursing option: Nursing at Harlaxton . For question about this option and course transfer, please contact the Harlaxton program coordinator at the Center for International Education.
If you are interested, complete a change of program form with the College of Nursing at the same time that you apply to the Harlaxton program. If your change of program form is not on file with Nursing, your application will not be considered complete!
GENERAL EDUCATION/LIBERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
For students in catalog years through 2015-2016, this program fulfills the Foreign Culture requirement upon successful program completion. The requirement is not automatically applied: please email Degree Review at email@example.com after completion of the program to update your degree audit. (Students earning a B.A., B.F.A. or B.M degree in the College of Arts & Sciences cannot use study abroad to fulfill their foreign language/foreign culture requirement. See the university catalog for details.)
