Current UW-Eau Claire students have opportunities in nearly 50 countries, so you can choose a program that meets your needs. For information on choosing a program see First Steps in Choosing a Study Abroad Program.
Credits earned on a UW-Eau Claire program abroad are considered resident credit, so all credits count towards graduation. Students in nearly any discipline can fulfill general education requirements abroad. If you want to earn credit in your major or minor, first take a look to see if your department has a Study Abroad Major Advising sheet. Most financial aid applies to the programs.
Forty-five of UW-Eau Claire's current programs have no language prerequisites. UW-Eau Claire study abroad students take courses in English in Bulgaria, China, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Ghana, Japan, Latvia, Malta, Mexico, the Netherlands, Nicaragua/Costa Rica, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden and Thailand as well as in Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, New Zealand and Scotland.
