The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Växjö University have exchanged students for more than 20 years! In 2010 Växjo University combined with Kalmar U
niversity College to become Linnaeus University. UW-Eau Claire students who participate in this exchange are enrolled in English-speaking courses with students from all over the world
THE LOCATION
Växjö (population 80,000) is the capital of Kronoberg in southeastern Sweden, 120 miles southwest of Stockholm. The heart of the traditional Swedish province of Småland, known for its forests, lakes, and unspoiled nature. Växjö was an important trading center as early as the 8th century, and its royal charter dates back to the 14th century.
THE UNIVERSITY
A major regional university with a student population of 11,000, Linnaeus is known for its programs in business, social sciences, and teacher education. The University has a strong international profile. In a given year, more than 450 international students from around the world will be studying in English at Växjö.
HOUSING & MEALS
Your housing is arranged by Linnaeus University in a residence hall or off-campus apartment. Residence halls have single rooms with private bathrooms and shared kitchen facilities. You'll cook your own meals in the kitchens or eat at one of several campus cafeterias.
