The Program

STUDY IN PAU!
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has partnered with University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) to offer students the opportunity to study French language and culture in Pau, France.

THE LOCATION
In the Béarn region in southwestern France, Pau is a picturesque city of 100,000. It offers spectacular scenery, a temperate climate all year long, and a fantastic location near both the Pyrénées mountains and the Atlantic coast-- and only an hour away from Spain!

THE UNIVERSITY
The program is located on the attractive campus of the University of Pau, situated in the northern part of the city about a mile and a half from the center of town. It features libraries, two dining halls, a café, several residence halls, and a variety of sports facilities. The university buildings all are relatively new and are much like those at U.S. colleges. More than 10,000 students are enrolled in the areas of humanities, sciences, polytechnic and business. The campus is well connected to the city by three bus lines.

HOUSING & MEALS
You have two housing options in Pau: homestays with a French family/host or university residence halls. Most USAC students opt to stay in homes. You will have an individual room, breakfast daily and two dinners each week. You may have your other meals at the university or make arrangements with your host to eat more often with them.

The residence halls are located on campus. If you choose to live in a residence hall, you can eat on campus. For all students, the university restaurant provides a wide range of food options for a modest cost (~3 euros/meal).
