Audrey M, a comprehensive geology major, spent a semester at LancasterAudrey & Knight.  “The students and professors at the University were friendly and easy to get along with,” Audrey said.  In fact, meeting people was her favorite part of studying abroad.  “I developed close relationships with a lot of people, and I still keep in touch with many of them.”

The Lancaster campus has all the daily amenities, and Audrey had many opportunities to travel within the U.K. on weekends.  After the semester ended, she also went to Spain, France, and Switzerland.

Although not a tea drinker before studying abroad, Audrey came to enjoy the English tradition.  “My favorite food was bread pudding and tea. The British really know how to do desserts, and I loved going to restaurants in the evenings just to get a few sweets,” she said.

What are the long term impacts of Audrey’s experience abroad?  “I have so much more confidence in myself.”  Plus, Audrey hopes study abroad will give her an advantage when seeking employment.  “I’ve got a jump start over other job candidates because of the international experience that I’ve had.”
